What do I need?

For the patty:

How do I make it?

For the Patty:

  1. Start with baked sweet potatoes (See Recipe)

  2. Preheat the oven to 400F

  3. Mash the sweet potatoes with green peas. Add finely chopped green onions

  4. Take a bowl and mix together the rest of the ingredients with the sweet potatoes from step 3

  5. Make flat patties and place them in an oven safe container and bake for about 35 mins. At the end of 35 mins, broil at Low for about 10 mins.

For the burger bun:

  1. Preheat oven at 350F

  2. Take a blender and blend together all (except sesame seeds) of the ingredients of bun

  3. I like to make these in muffin pan. So pour the mixture equally in the muffin cups. Fill them till half the level, as they will rise during the baking process. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of each bun

  4. Bake for about 10 mins. They are done when a stick comes out clean when poked into the bread

For the veggies:

  1. Take a large pan  and melt butter on medium flame

  2. Slice onions, green peppers and mushrooms along the length

  3. Add onions and green peppers and sautee on medium flame till they are golden. Also add salt and pepper

  4. Now add mushrooms and sautee till mushrooms start to turn brown. First they will lose water then they will turn brown

Assemble:

  1. Start off with a burger bun and place cheese followed by patty followed by cheese followed by the sauteed veggies and top with the bun

  2. Place it in the hot oven for 10 mins. You don’t need to turn the oven on as you would have just used the oven, it would still be warm.

  3. Serve your burger with some zucchini tater tots (See Recipe) and Love.
